Maytag
1 hp Vertical Engine
This is a 1 hp stove leg Maytag engine. The
serial number is 53410. It is in great condition. I have owned it for about 10
years. The first two pictures show the condition it was in when I purchased it from
a collector in Oklahoma. There are no cracks, breaks, or welds on the exterior
of the engine. The connecting rod had been repaired by brazing when I received
it. That repair is a good sturdy repair and not caused any issues. I completely
disassembled, inspected, and restored the engine. The paint is a Dupont
automotive type paint that had the proper hardener mixed with it. The carb was
rebuilt, cylinder wall honed, and new rings were installed. The governor and
commutator ring are in very good condition. Notice there are no broken or
repaired cylinder fins. All of the bolts are the correct original crown head
type. The skids are made from red oak. The black collar that is mounted to the
end of the crankshaft lets me use a power drill and socket to crank the engine. The engine is in
running condition, but has not been run in several years. It has been stored in
a weather tight building.
Price is $2500
